Low TunedThe Low Tuned Essentials wave audio format impulse response library is based on an OwnHammer proprietary cabinet captured and mixed in such a way as to complement extended range and heavily downtuned guitars for use in contemporary music styles and production. While not exclusively useful within these parameters, the primarily intended application is for guitars with the lowest pitch being B1 and below. When increasing the unit weight of a string in combination with down tuning, the inherent resonance of the string changes tonality. In simple terms it gets muddy; where the thicker the string and the lower the pitch, the more it builds. The IR’s in this pack combat this by shaping the tone in such a way as to reduce that mud, yet provide additional support for lower fundamentals so that tones are clear and detailed, without being harsh or thin, while still full bodied and retaining authority.
The “412 MES-ST” is based on a 2001 Mesa Boogie Standard slant 4×12 cabinet.
The MTCH 212 ESD-V2 is based on a Matchless™ ESD 2×12 cabinet loaded with Celestion M25 and H30 speakers custom made for Matchless™ amps. This cabinet was acquired and put through rigorous A/B testing to see how it compared to our other ESD cabinet. This was the clear winner that sounded better, felt more “alive,” and was more inspiring to play through. The tone has rich midrange and warm low-mids with a smooth top end that chimes without being abrasive. Equally at home with single coil pickups, humbuckers, and semi-hollowbody guitars, this cabinet excels at clean, edge of breakup, and mid gain tones that truly sing. Captured with twelve vintage and modern microphones through top of the line outboard equipment, this Cab Pack boasts 115 single mic shots on each speaker along with 11 H30 Mixes, 11 M25 Mixes, and 11 H30-M25 speaker blend Mixes for a total of 263 IRs! The VX15 112 Blue Cab Pack is based on a Vox™ Handwired AC15 combo loaded with an English made Celestion™ Alnico Blue Speaker. The tone is heavenly with a warm low end, iconic vocal like Alnico Blue midrange, and a top end that chimes with clarity and definition. This pack was made with York Audio’s signature “ear-tuned” captures and multi-mic mixes that play particularly well with Class-A type amps/models.
The MRSH M20 is based on a 1976 Marshall 4×12 “Checkerboard” cabinet loaded with UK made Celestion Heritage G12M20 speakers. The 20 watt Greenback has huge low end, woody mids, and crunchy highs. This cab pairs well with classic British amps, but also screams with high gain.
